Why Did We Build Scrow?

As long-time members of the crypto community, we've spent our fair share of time in OTC groups. We know that many crypto users prefer to trade OTC, for a variety of reasons - and institutions use this method almost exclusively.

Despite the enduring popularity and importance of OTC, it has always been treated as as add-on to centralized and decentralized exchanges in the crypto world. Time and again, we have witnessed holders who trade seven-, eight-, and even nine-figure sums, but are forced to use either trusted middlemen for escrow or else default to sending their funds to crypto exchanges, with all the loss of custody, uncertainty, costs, delays, and privacy implications that entails.

The blockchain space is built on the benefits of decentralization. Why should OTC trading be any different?

We know that this is a market that is growing with and even faster than the overall crypto space, not an early anomaly that will one day become outdated. By leveraging smart contracts, we provide a platform where trust is built into the system, rather than being dependent on intermediaries. Scrow operates on a multi-chain architecture, initially supporting a wide range of Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatible chains including Ethereum, BSC, Polygon, and many more.

Executing an exchange using Scrow is secure, instant, and does not require any loss of custody: tokens are exchanged atomically (simultaneously) once both parties have deposited them to their custom, single-use smart contract.
